Arsenal To Spend £75m On Aubameyang & Jonny Evans, Calum Chambers To Leave?

Now unless you’ve been living on the moon for the past weeks you should know that the transfer window is in full swing. With less than a week remaining in the winter window, clubs including the Arsenal are looking to wrap up deals before the deadline. As we all know so far the Arsenal have been fairly active compared to other clubs. We have so far brought in 2 players and got rid of Sanchez, Walcott and Coquelin as well as some youngsters in the process, however it seems that we are not done yet as Arsene Wenger is still looking to strengthen our squad.
Anyway on to the matter at hand. It has been widely reported that arsenal are set to splash out £75 million. Most of this money is to go towards the purchase of Aubameyang who is judging by reports likely to join Arsenal this month despite the tough negotiations. Officials of the Arsenal including new head of recruitment Sven Mislintat and The Arsenal’s chief executive Ivan Gazidis have recently been spotted in Germany. They are almost certainly in Germany to negotiate a deal with Dortmund that will see Aubameyang become a Gunner.
And if you believe reports, after signing Aubameyang Arsenal will have some money left, this could potentially be going towards the signing of Johnny Evans from West Brom. Throughout the last year, Evans has attracted very keen interest from runaway premier league leaders Manchester City, however now they have opted to looking to bring in Bilbao defender Aymeric Laporte and it seems they have struck a deal with Bilbao therefore ending their pursuit of Evans. That will be advantage Arsenal.

Many people have their opinions on these two transfers, particularly on Aubameyang who many agree that we should be signing as a replacement for Sanchez. I would myself find it difficult to deny the fact that he will improve our team. The signing of Aubameyang added to that of Mkhitaryan would massively help Alexandre Lacazatte and would definitely release some of the pressure on his shoulders. In regards to Evans, I believe he would definitely improve our defence (which isn’t too hard to do as its that bad).

If we sign Evans, we would be bringing in an experienced premier league defender however I can see why people would be against this signing as we would be signing a 29 year old centre back currently captaining a relegation threatened West Brom side. He is good no doubt but good enough for a top 6 team?

Also what would this signing mean for players like Calum Chambers and Rob Holding? Surely they’d have to at least think of getting a loan or even a permanent move if they want to progress in their careers? My money will be on Chambers leaving permanently either this month or in the summer.

Assuming we sign the pair (Auba and Evans) added Mkhitaryan who is already ours, I would say this would be a very good window. However a question which remains to be answered is how and where will these new recruits play. In my opinion both mkhi and Auba are definite starters whilst Evans may have to settle for a place on the bench especially if we play with 2 centre backs ( which I think we will revert back to with if we pull off the signing of Aubameyang ) as I don’t really see Wenger benching either Mustafi or Koscienly.
What do you guys think?
