The transfer window is always a roller coaster for Arsenal fans. They often get linked with every world-class footballer in the world and then end up signing a below-par player. However, this time, things are different. They’ve already secured the services of Henrikh Mkhitaryan and now they’re set to announce the signing of the superstar Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang. A deal in the region of £53m to £57m is reported to have been agreed between the two clubs.
As happy as fans are right now, a tweet by Guillem Balague has sent the Arsenal fanbase into ecstasy again. Remember, it was the Spaniard who initially broke the news that Arsenal would be signing Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang. In another tweet that confirmed the deal was done, Guillem Balague stated that this still wasn’t the only deal Arsenal were working on. We’re here today to state who that could be. But first the tweet is reproduced below;
ALL DONE! @Aubameyang7 will be #AFC player pending medical. Fixed fee of £53m with £2.5m adds on if major trophies won, pass CL group stage (so pays itself). Wages not even half what Alexis wanted. Not the only deal #AFC working on

First, we must analyse Arsenal’s potential departures. Olivier Giroud, Mathieu Debuchy and Rob Holding are the three names that spring to mind. However, the departure of Giroud would, of course, be the biggest loss, as he’s scored well over 100 goals for the Gunners.
This exit has the potential to create a domino effect across Europe, with several clubs said to be interested. It’s said that the Frenchman is desperate to leave the Emirates as he needs more first-team football to justify his place in France’s World Cup squad. Didier Deschamps won’t want to take a 32-year-old player to Russia if he’s not match fit.
At first it was thought that Olivier Giroud would be used as leverage in the deal for Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang, however, the 31-year-old has opted against that for personal reasons. For the same reason, it’s said that Olivier Giroud wants to stay in London if he were to move. Just as luck would it have, Antonio Conte and Chelsea are desperately looking for a target man centre-forward. So, seeing as Olivier Giroud wants to stay in London, Arsenal have set a £35million price tag on the Frenchman’s head, a fee the Blues may or may not match.
If Olivier Giroud were to moveacross London, it’s imperative Arsenal sign an attacking option. Because without one, they’ll have to rely solely on Alexandre Lacazette in the Europa League. So, if it’s another attacking option Arsenal need, then they could be re-visiting their chase of Cristian Pavón. The Argentinean has a release clause of £33million in his contract, a clause the Gunners could easily afford especially if Olivier Giroud goes to Chelsea.
